The video shows late-night revelry getting out of control when a driver races around a central square in southern Kazakhstan, crashing into a tall Christmas tree and knocking it over.
CCTV footage from the town of Saryagash shows the driver speeding towards the largely empty square in the early morning hours and making tight circular turns, commonly known as donuts, in a Russian-made Lada sedan.
As the driver attempted to complete a second consecutive turn, the vehicle swung wider than before and headed directly towards a 12-foot Christmas tree located in the middle of the square.
The car continued forward and crashed into the decorated tree, which fell to the ground as lights scattered across the pavement. The impact caused the illuminated holiday display to flatten almost immediately.
