CM Vijay Reaches Out to Family, Vows Justice

Salem: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay spoke to the family of a 10-year-old girl who was allegedly sexually assaulted and murdered in Coimbatore and assured them that justice will be served, the victim’s grandmother said on Sunday. The CM spoke to the family and ensured justice, he told reporters here.
“He (CM) spoke to us and assured us of justice. He also asked about us and whether we had a home. He said he was with us and we should not worry,” he said.
The sexual assault and brutal murder of the child in Coimbatore’s Sulur has sparked shock and anger in Tamil Nadu, with Chief Minister Vijay on Saturday promising stringent action following opposition backlash.
Two people, including the girl’s acquaintances, were detained in connection with the incident.
