Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, drew ridicule Wednesday morning after claiming “rigging” in the Texas Senate race and suggesting Republicans rigged the Senate election as James Talarico was the expected winner Wednesday morning.

Critics called out Crockett for his suggestions on X; many of them indicated that they would prefer to oppose the GOP’s brand of progressive firebrands.

Tim Carney of the Washington Examiner wrote of X: “If Republicans had rigged the election, Ms. Crockett, the results would have looked a little different.”

Talarico, a Democratic state lawmaker from Texas, defeated Crockett in the Senate primary on Tuesday, as predicted by the Associated Press.

Commentary Magazine editor John Podhoretz said Crockett’s blaming of Republicans was “hilarious.”

“The GOP would definitely prefer to run against Crockett,” he added in a post to X.

Former Republican congressman Pete Meijer wrote: “It is true that the GOP intervened, but only by (a) persuading him to run and (b) saying things to get his votes!”

TEXAS Senate primaries exploded when CORNYN SAID PAXTON COULD COST THE GOP MAJORITY AND COST DEMOCRATS CONFLICT OVER RACE

“Jasmine Crockett lost the Senate primary and is screaming about cheating, the race card, and everything else… I’m happy to watch her help her party continue to lose in the general election in Texas,” wrote Tim Young, a media staffer for the Heritage foundation.

Crockett claimed there was “rigging” at a press conference with former MP Collin Allred on Tuesday evening.

“If one person has the right to vote and they are not allowed to vote, we must all stand together. Democrats, Republicans, all of us must stir up trouble. But unfortunately, that was always the plan. So I’m grateful for this court decision. And as Congresswoman Allred stated earlier, we encourage each and every one of you to remain resilient.”

“We can’t allow that kind of behavior to be rewarded, because as long as they know they can win, they’re going to keep doing it, even if it means cheating. So I’m imploring you. I’m imploring you, make sure you go ahead and find out where you need to vote. Stand in line, wait in line, and if that means I have to come over there to wait with you, I’ll do that,” Crockett continued Tuesday evening.

“He’s right!!! Crockett voters need to punish Talarico and the Democrats in November,” said Ryan James Girdusky, journalist and author of the National Populist Newsletter, in response to the allegation that Crockett “cheated.”

Early Wednesday morning, Crockett suggested Republicans were trying to rig his primary race after the state’s Supreme Court issued an emergency ruling against his campaign’s request that voters in Dallas County be given a deadline to clear up confusion about Republican-led changes at polling places.

Crockett’s allegations come after the Texas Supreme Court overturned a lower judge’s decision to keep polling places open longer and to require the segregation of votes cast after the initial closing time. Democrats have pushed to keep polling places open longer because of polling place restrictions resulting from Republicans and Democrats not holding joint primary elections.

He told a group of supporters that he did not believe they would learn the election results tonight.

“So my news is, based on what’s going on specifically in Dallas County, in my view, we’re not going to get election results tonight. Unfortunately, Republicans like to do that. And so they specifically targeted Dallas County, and I think we all know why,” he told the group gathered to celebrate his potential victory.

“Byyyyyeee,” wrote Miranda Devine of the New York Post.

Others pointed to Democrats and the situation between Talarico and later-night host Stephen Colbert; Colbert claimed in February that CBS stopped his interview with the Democratic Senate candidate from airing on its show.

CBS denied that the show stopped airing the interview and said recommendations were made on Colbert’s show, including offering Crockett equal time.

“She looks like Stacey Abrams but different!” Fox News’ Joe Concha wrote.
