According to IANS sources, this Women’s Brigade will be led by Masood Azhar’s sister Sadiya Azhar.

Notably, her husband Yusuf Azhar was killed when JeM’s headquarters in Markaz Subhanallah was hit on May 7 during the Indian Armed Forces’ Operation Sindoor.

“Masood Azhar’s two sisters, Sadiya Azhar and Samaira Azhar, will hold lectures through online meeting platforms for 40 minutes every day to encourage women to join Jamat ul-Muminat, the women’s brigade of Jaish-e-Mohammad,” sources familiar with the matter added to the news agency.

To recruit more women, leaders will teach them tasks and more from a “jihad” perspective, IANS reported, citing sources.

“To strengthen the organization and recruit more women, female family members of Jaish-e-Mohammed leaders, including relatives of Masood Azhar and his commanders, will teach women their duties from the perspective of jihad, religion and Islam,” IANS sources said.

JeM Headquarters Destroyed in Operation Sindoor

Headquarters of terrorist organizations such as JeM, Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Hizbul Mujahideen were destroyed by Indian forces during Operation Sindoor.

The Indian operation was launched in retaliation for the brutal Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 people lost their lives. Since the attacks, terrorist groups have reportedly moved their bases to Pakistan’s restive province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Propaganda of Terror Leaders

Since India’s Operation Sindoor, leaders of these terrorist organizations have been preparing and distributing propaganda videos. It was reported that they requested funds to re-strengthen their base and cadres.

Citing sources, IANS also reported that JeM founder Masood Azhar is leaving no stone unturned in fundraising. Additionally, JeM collects donations of PKR 500 from every woman who registers for the course and makes them fill an online inquiry form.

History of Women in Terror Groups

While terrorist groups such as ISIS and Hamas have a history of recruiting women as suicide bombers, organizations such as JeM, LeT and Hizbul Mujahideen have largely avoided this, but sources now believe JeM’s latest move signals its intention to train and use female suicide bombers in the future.
