JD Vance’s trip to Pakistan for peace talks put on hold; Iran yet to decide on attending; Israeli soldiers punished for destroying Jesus statue in Lebanon
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said that no decision has been made yet regarding the participation of the Iranian delegation in the peace talks with the USA in Pakistan. he told the BBC.
Baghaei was reportedly concerned about the US naval blockade of Iranian ports and US President Donald Trump’s threat to strike Iran’s energy infrastructure when the ceasefire expires on Wednesday.
“We went into this negotiation in good faith and with a sense of seriousness, but you have a negotiating side that shows a lack of seriousness and good faith,” Baghaei said, according to the BBC.
“They change their positions frequently, these flip-flops, war crime threats.”
Baghaei also told Iranian state television that “no final decision” had been made on whether to participate in ceasefire talks due to “unacceptable actions of the American counterpart.”
Meanwhile, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammed Bagir Galibaf said that Tehran has new cards on the battlefield that have not yet been announced.
