Jemima Goldsmith to marry multi-millionaire financier Cameron O’Reilly after dating for 12 months
He’s had his share of heartbreak over the years.
But The Mail on Sunday reveals Jemima Goldsmith has found love again with a multimillionaire smart meter and software investor she has been with for more than a year.
The 52-year-old award-winning screenwriter and documentary producer, son of the late media mogul and international rugby star Sir Anthony O’Reilly, is engaged to Irish-Australian financier Cameron O’Reilly, 62.
It was learned that the man, a father of four children, met Jemima as an executive producer on various documentaries and films.
Friends say the couple, who split their time between their home in Switzerland and their home in West London, are ‘very happy together’.
One of them told this newspaper: ‘They first met through work and were friends for a while before that. They have been together as a couple for over a year. He’s a very special person and Jemima is determined to protect that.’

Many members of Jemima’s family, including her brother Robin Birley, who owns the London club 5 Hertford Street, are understood to have met Mr O’Reilly and got on very well with him.
The Oxford graduate worked for a decade at his father’s media empire, Independent News & Media, and later at Australian group APN News & Media, before leaving as chief executive in 2000.
In 2003, he acquired the Swiss measurement company Landis+Gyr and founded the private equity fund Bayard Capital. He served as chief executive before it was sold to Toshiba for $2.3 billion in 2011.
The friends are hopeful the engagement could be the start of a new established chapter for Jemima, especially given their shared interest in documentary making.
His credits include producing the 2018 docuseries The Clinton Affair and the Emmy-nominated docuseries The Case Against Adnan Syed.
The script of the 2022 romantic comedy What’s Love Got to Do? won multiple awards.
Jemima, the daughter of late billionaire financier Sir James Goldsmith, is currently campaigning for the release of Imran Khan, her ex-husband and father of her two sons Qasim and Suleiman, from prison in Pakistan.
The former cricketer-turned-politician was jailed for corruption in 2023 and remains behind bars after receiving further sentences in December last year in cases he said were politically motivated.
