Country music singer arrested on vehicular homicide charge

Country music singer Kata Hay, who rose to fame as a contestant on “The Voice,” was arrested in Tennessee and charged with vehicular homicide.

Hay, whose real name is Kata Huddleston, was taken into custody after the Goodlettsville Police Department issued a BOLO earlier in the week.

The alert stated that the 38-year-old singer had “an outstanding arrest warrant for vehicular homicide in connection with a motor vehicle crash on Long Hollow Pike near I-65.”

Police said at the time that they “had reason to believe he was headed to Oklahoma and was traveling with a white male, possibly towing a large trailer.”

Goodlettsville Police released a post on December 17 announcing Huddleston’s arrest in Oklahoma and extradition to Davidson Country.

Whiskey Riff said This is the latest in a series of disturbing events for Huddleston.

He also currently faces a DUI charge and a charge of leaving the scene of an accident with more than $1,500 in damage and an open container, the outlet said. Huddleston was also on probation for a DUI in Nashville in 2017, according to Whiskey Riff.

And according to WKRN, the singer was sentenced to six months in prison after pleading guilty to sexual intercourse with a minor.
