“This is truly difficult news for the thousands of Spirit team members affected, as well as for customers planning trips on Spirit,” said JetBlue CEO Joanna Geraghty.
“We got to know many of the crew members during our acquisition negotiations, and we are thinking of everyone whose lives have been disrupted. We want to help fill the void created by this loss.”
JetBlue expects to operate about 130 daily flights from Fort Lauderdale this summer; This marks the largest operation from the airport in its history, with 75% more daily flights compared to 2025.
