The New York Jets have long been the object of ridicule, but perhaps it’s never been more deserved than right now.
Gang Green finished their season with another loss, but this time it was a different embarrassment, a 35-8 loss to the Buffalo Bills.
This defeat marked the first time an NFL team lost five consecutive games by at least 23 points; Nothing like this has happened in four games since 1972. The point difference in this span is -134, with an average loss of 26.8 points.
This loss was also the 14th loss of the season for the Jets; they had only released this issue under Rich Kotite in 1995 and Adam Gase in 2020.

But the exclamation point was that the Jets finished the season with no interceptions — another brutal NFL first. The San Francisco 49ers set an NFL record dating back to 2024 earlier this season by not starting a quarterback in 15 straight games. But that streak eventually came to an end, and the Jets took it to a whole new level.

The nightmare is over for the Jets, who have been abysmal under first-year head coach Aaron Glenn. Three different quarterbacks started for the Jets; Justin Fields was on the bench and in his absence Tyrod Taylor was injured, resulting in Brady Cook starting in the late season.
At the trade deadline, the Jets sent Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams away for draft capital. Fortunately, those trades were made with the Indianapolis Colts and Dallas Cowboys, both of whom missed the playoffs. So the picks they got from them (Colts’ 2026 first and Dallas’ 2026 second) aren’t bad at all. Additionally, the Jets now have the second pick of the draft.

But it will be up to general manager Darren Mougey to make the most of them and decide whether Glenn is the right man to lead the Jets moving forward.
