The NFL trade deadline has passed and all eyes are on the New York Jets, who sent two All-Pro defensive stars, Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams, before Tuesday’s 4 p.m. ET.
While it wasn’t a surprise that the 1-7 Jets were sellers at the deadline, seeing two key pieces of the team move on that side of the ball had former teammates taking to social media.
Running back Breece Hall and rusher Jermaine Johnson, who reportedly requested a trade himself before the deadline, approached the X to share their thoughts on the situation.

“I’m sick of my Bruddas, man,” Hall wrote in a since-deleted tweet with a sad-faced emoji. “I’m happy for them, but I’m sick.”
Hall was also posting memes ahead of the deadline, which fans saw as stirring the pot about her situation. This comes after Gardner, who signed a four-year contract extension this offseason, was dealt to the Indianapolis Colts in exchange for two first-round draft picks.

Then, Williams, a three-time Pro Bowl linebacker, was traded to the Dallas Cowboys for a first-round pick in 2027, a second-round pick in 2026 and defensive tackle Mazi Smith.
With those two gone, the Jets made it clear they were going to shake up the roster to some degree, but they didn’t part ways with offensive stars like Hall and wide receiver Garrett Wilson.

Meanwhile, Johnson, who was sharing memes in response to the news that Gardner and Williams were traded, was clearly devastated to see his teammates and friends leave the Jets.
He shared his thoughts after the deadline passed, which included trusting the process and having faith in the front office.
“I’d be lying if I said I was glad to see my brothers go, because I’m not, I’m sick. But I believe strongly in the organization, the staff, and my other brothers in the locker room. When I got drafted, I said I wanted to be the reason or a part of the reasons why this thing changes for the better, and that will continue to be my perspective.”
“I love this team and this fan base and you will all continue to do my best on and off the field. Let’s look forward and upward because better things are coming and I promise you that. Always go to the Jets (green heart emoji).”
