Joe Biden posts confusing Christmas card of his whole family…but fans say they can BARELY see him

Former US President Joe Biden shared a family photo to wish his followers a happy holiday season, but online users were quick to notice that he was barely visible in the photo.

“I hope you have a peaceful and joyful Christmas Eve filled with love,” he wrote X.

Commenters pointed out that the 46th commander in chief was largely obscured by his wife, Jill, in the unusual festive photo.

“I saw this photo and thought, this is definitely not real,” one user wrote.

‘This is definitely someone mocking Joe Biden because the photo was photoshopped,’ he added. ‘But no, it’s real. From his official account. ‘This is mind-blowing.’

The photo of the curious group had been viewed more than 3.1 million times as of Thursday afternoon.

Online users were quick to point out that Joe Biden’s Christmas Eve group photo pushed the former US president into the background, with his face partially obscured by his wife Jill.

Biden was in the background of the family group photo, with part of his face obscured by his smiling wife.

‘Lovely having Miss Joe standing in front of your head,’ wrote one X user.

Another asked: “Why are you friends?” he asked. ‘Blocked by Jill.’

Others were even more blunt in their assessments, taking aim at the former first lady for hiding her husband’s face.

“This is a photo of a former US president pushed in the background and half-covered by his wife,” one X user said. ‘His [sic] It could almost be a joke, but I don’t think it is.’

Biden’s ‘classy’ move to not feature more prominently in his own profile was also sarcastically noted by online commenters.

‘Oh,’ one X user posted. ‘A way to push the family’s namesake to the back, cover part of his face and share it on his social media account.’

Should family photo etiquette change when the person photographed is a former president?

The Christmas Eve portrait featured Biden’s 55-year-old son Hunter at center instead of the former president.

A different user said, ‘Hunter is alpha now.’

He was accompanied to his right by his wife, Melissa Cohen, 39, who stood next to his daughter Maisy, 24, and Jill Biden.

The family photo was completed by Joe Biden’s 44-year-old daughter Ashley and 25-year-old grandson Finnegan.

Joe Biden was the only person whose face was partially covered in the photo.

“I think it’s disrespectful to put the eldest family member behind a photo taken for the former president’s social media,” one user wrote.

Another user agreed: ‘His family buried it behind the Christmas photo and then posted it on their own account.’

Commenters asked why the former First Lady was hiding the 46th president's head. One user sarcastically said it was a 'stylish' touch to Biden's own social media account

After Biden withdrew from the presidential race in 2024, he remained in the background in both his public and political life.

But once president, Biden was thrust into the spotlight for a series of disastrous debate performances and gaffes, including introducing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as ‘President Putin’, mistaking vice president Kamala Harris for Trump and calling defense secretary Lloyd J Austin III ‘that black man’.

At the beginning of the month, Biden stumbled over his words because he could not say “America” in a speech.

The former US president condemned the “many crises caused by this administration” while distorting the name of the country he previously governed.

“We are the United States of America,” Biden said. ‘This is who we are. ‘We are the USA.’

In May, Biden’s post-presidency office announced that he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer, which had spread to his bones.

Biden completed radiation treatment for the aggressive cancer in late October and had previously been surrounded by family on Thanksgiving.
