Joe Rogan says Trump betrayed voters with war after no-wars pledge

From Joe Rogan to Theo Von, many of the podcasters who helped propel President Donald Trump to victory in 2024 warn that broken campaign promises can have devastating consequences.
Trump won what some have called the “podcast election,” appearing on multiple platforms that appeal to young men, a group that has shifted specifically to the right in recent years due to a backlash against far-left cultural agendas and affordability issues. But many of the podcasters who convinced these young men to support Trump are now warning that his current policies are a betrayal of his voters or a complete break from Trump.
Semaphore wrote about this phenomenon in a recent article: “‘Surprising’: Trump’s podcaster problem runs deep” He emphasizes that although Rogan recently made a friendly visit to the White House to advance his research in psychedelic therapy, other issues are still at play.
“But still White House’s efforts to put Rogan on trial Trump still has a lot of work to do once he proves successful, Semaphore wrote. “Of the 14 long-form ‘sister’ podcasts Trump appeared on during the 2024 presidential campaign, eight of the hosts questioned or criticized the war, while only two endorsed it.”
ROGAN MOCKS TRUMP’S AI IMAGE, RECOMMENDING HIM AS A JESUS-LIKE IDEA
Podcaster Joe Rogan said he sent research on ibogaine to President Donald Trump and received a response asking for FDA approval, which jump-started the administration’s policy efforts. Rogan warns Trump voters ‘feel betrayed’ by war in Iran and says Trump is being pressured by foreign leader
“Well, it seems crazy based on what you’re running on,” Rogan said in March. “I mean, a lot of people feel betrayed by that, right? He said ‘no more war’ and ‘these stupid senseless wars’ and then there’s a war where we can’t even clearly define why we’re doing this.”
Rogan also had more mixed views on the ICE raids, saying he understood the perspectives of those for and against the raids, but ultimately defended the raids and blamed Democrats, who he said had failed to secure the border in recent years.
Days after Trump visited the White House to attend the signing of an executive order allowing medical research on psychedelics earlier this weekRogan argued that Israel was the reason America was forced into war.
“Netanyahu kept visiting the White House. Do you think it’s a coincidence that Netanyahu kept visiting the White House and eventually they decided to surrender and start bombing?” he asked. “You have to wonder how you’re going to get out of this. So what does the way out look like? Are we going to have troops there forever now? Will we help them financially if we blow up their power grids and their infrastructure?”

Libertarian comedian Dave Smith warned in a recent podcast with Theo Von that the GOP faces a reckoning as young Americans believe former President Donald Trump has failed to deliver on his MAGA promises, especially on foreign policy. (Screenshot/”Part of the Problem”)
Comedian Dave Smith says Trump squandered historic coalition and will hand country back to Democrats
Comedian and libertarian Dave Smith, who has been critical of Israel’s influence on American politics, condemned Trump’s decisions despite voting for him in 2024.
“After 24, this coalition came together in an environment where Donald Trump won the popular vote for the first time, won all the swing states, and more importantly, won the youth and the culture,” Smith said in an interview with Rogan last month.
“The entire coalition was destroyed because of this war,” he said. “And now he’s going to give the country back to the Democrats for whom we fought so hard. All for what? All for a war that Netanyahu wants?”
During a podcast with comedian Theo Von, Smith argued that Trump desperately needs to “pick up some wins, like really clear Ws for the American people,” or the midterms will be a disaster for Republicans.
“The fundamental animating spirit of Donald Trump’s political existence, his fundamental promise was to ‘drain the swamp,'” Smith later said on the podcast. “There’s something about the Epstein cover-up: ‘When it really came down to it, you didn’t want to drain the swamp. You wanted to protect them.'”

Theo Von says Trump doesn’t put Americans first, instead engages in ‘evil’ actions
Theo Von, who interviewed Trump in 2024 and is said to be Barron Trump’s favorite podcaster, has repeatedly condemned the president for the Iran war.
On Monday, Theo Von condemned Trump’s Easter threat to destroy Iranian civilization.
“It’s incredible on Easter. You know, when people literally hope for something new on a day when they hope and believe with their hearts and celebrate something new, a rebirth, a resurrection, a possibility, it’s a demonic thing to write that down. It’s insane,” he said. “Which American does this help? Outside of the industrial warfare complex? What American, what man is trying to take care of his family, or a single mother who is a nurse who has to go to work and go home and go to her kids’ ball game and has to be both a parent and a parent. Which farmer does this help? Which ordinary person does this help? I just don’t know. I don’t understand you.”
Theo Von added that Trump’s decision to start a war with Iran was “confusing” and claimed he was endangered by Israel.

Comedian Andrew Schulz says Trump presidency is the exact opposite of what he voted for
Comedian Andrew Schulz, who also interviewed Trump during the 2024 elections, said that people’s votes for Trump in July hit him in the face.
Schulz responded, “I didn’t vote for any of this! He does the exact opposite of everything I voted for!” he said.
He recently criticized the war in Iran and said it angered Americans’ concerns about affordability.
“And the only reason we’re there seems to be that Israel needs it, and naturally Americans are outraged about that, right? Because we’re thinking, ‘What good does this do to me? I can’t pay for college. I can’t buy a house. I can’t pay for health insurance. And we’re going to spend billions of dollars on a war in a country I can’t even show on a map. Me?” he said.

Comedian warns Iran war is ‘death knell’ for Trump movement, citing fake intelligence
Comedian Tim Dillon, an openly gay, anti-establishment comedian Credited by CNN in 2025 As one of the cutting-edge comedians who “helped Trump reach young men” to the point where “Democrats wanted in on the joke.”
He told CNN: “You can’t go to war with straight white men for four years and then ask why they didn’t vote for you. That seems crazy. I made fun of Meghan Markle a lot. Then I said, ‘Why don’t you think Meghan Markle is watching (my special)?’ I can’t say.’ “I just think you need to pick your fights better.”
In March, “It seems pretty clear that we were fooled a little bit” by faulty intelligence on Iran, he said, calling the war in Iran both ill-advised and a death knell for the Trump movement.
“It’s pretty hard to argue that this isn’t the death knell for whatever the Trump coalition is trying to do, whatever deep state nonsense they talk about coming on the heels of the Epstein list, the other half of which they won’t release, and sort of getting involved in this war,” he said. “You know, the idea that this is a group of people committed to any kind of transparency, or that’s ridiculous. If you have some kind of brain, which most of you don’t.”
When contacted by Fox News Digital, White House spokesman Davis Ingle responded: “The most important thing for the American people is to have a Commander in Chief who takes decisive action to eliminate threats and keep them safe, which is exactly what President Trump did in his successful Operation Epic Rage.”
“President Trump proudly fulfilled his promise to deny the Iranian regime the ability to develop nuclear weapons, which is what this noble operation accomplished,” Ingle continued. “The President is making these incredibly important national security decisions based on the best interests of the American people, not based on volatile opinion polls.”
