Govt allows 2G ethanol exports with authorisation, certification: DGFT

On Wednesday, the General Directorate of Foreign Trade (DGFT) updated India’s export rules to allow the export of the second generation (2G) ethanol.
2G Ethanol, Bagasse, Wooden Waste, Agricultural Residues, Herbs, Algae and other renewable sources are made of non -food materials. It is considered environmentally friendly because it produces low CO2 emissions and does not compete with food plants for land.
Exports will only be allowed if the companies have a valid export authority and raw material certificate from the relevant authority. The policy applies to Ethyl alcohol and the ITC (HS) code covering the souls of any power to other Denatura of any power.
The DGFT notification immediately enters into force and an additional export condition is added to the second generation ethanol under the program of ITC (HS) 2022.
