The Ministry of Justice filed a lawsuit against the Sheriff Department of the Los Angeles district on Tuesday (LASD) and Şerif Robert Luna, and accused of delaying the secret transportation permits of the citizens who comply with the laws by violating the second change.

The case that Doj put forward as a first positive case to support arms owners claims that LASD has forced the citizens to wait for a decision for months and even years to wait for a decision.

DEJ said in his complaints that the Şerif Office between January 2024 and March 2025 has received 3,982 new applications for secret transport permits and only approved two as of May 8th. As of this date, two of the remaining applications were rejected, 1,210 “withdrawn for various reasons” and “about 2,768 applications for a new license to carry a secret firearm.”

Fox News Digital reached the sheriff office to comment, but they did not respond immediately.

In March, the case is followed by a large number of complaints about the delays that the Civil Rights Department said that it was “unexplained” that the Supreme Court violates the second amendment rights of citizens who comply with the law.

The department said that he reviewed more than 8,000 applications received by LASD, including renovations and found more than a year’s average delays. Some applicants have made negotiations planned at the end of 2026 after a period of more than two years before the file.

The California law requires authorities to respond to applications within 90 days.

“The second change is the right to carry the basic constitutional right of citizens who follow the law.” He said. “Los Angeles County may not like this right, but the Constitution does not allow their violation. This Ministry of Justice will continue to fight for the second change.”

The lawsuit filed in the California Central Regional Court of the USA, the arms of the weapons, the weapons owners, the California weapon holders and the Second Amendment Foundation after the arms groups imposed a separate lawsuit managed by California Rifle and Pistol Association (CRPA).

This case accused Luna and LASD for dragging secret transportation practices with long delays, wages and new requirements. A judge has already decided to decide a partial measure, ordered LASD to shorten its waiting times, and asked California to open a process to apply for permits that started in April.

California guns and Pistol Association welcomed the news about the Doj case.
