Former US Vice President Kamala Harris.
Former US Vice President Kamala Harris hinted that she may run for president again. In an interview with the BBC, Harris, 61, said: “I’m not done yet.” The Indian-origin Democratic leader added: “I’ve spent my entire career being a life of service, and it’s in my bones.” He also expressed how he feels about US President Donald Trump and his ongoing term. The White House harshly criticized Harris in response to her comments.
What did Kamala Harris say?
Discussing Trump’s second presidency, which began this January, Harris said: “You look at what’s happening, how he (Trump) has been weaponized, for example, federal agencies going after political satirists.” He added: “His skin is so thin that he couldn’t take the criticism of a joke and tried to shut down an entire media outlet in the process.” The former Vice President also called out business leaders and institutions who caved in to Trump’s demands.
How did the White House react?
Asked to comment on Harris’ interview, the US White House harshly criticized the politician. “When Kamala Harris lost the election by a landslide, she should have gotten the hint; the American people don’t care about her ridiculous lies,” spokeswoman Abigail Jackson said. “Or maybe he got the hint and that’s why he continues to vent his complaints to foreign publications.” Republican Trump began his second term as president in January after defeating Harris, who launched her campaign after former president Joe Biden withdrew his candidacy.
