Kanye West announces his first UK shows in 11 years as the rapper is set to headline THREE nights at Wireless Festival – two months after revealing devastating health battle and apologising for antisemitic rants

Kanye West has announced that he will return to the UK stage for the first time in 11 years, with the rapper headlining all three nights at Wireless Festival.
The controversial music star, 48, will appear on stage at London’s Finsbury Park in July in a bid to salvage his damaged reputation after a series of nasty outbursts over the years, including antisemitic comments.
Kanye detailed how his bipolar disorder caused him to lose ‘touch with reality’ in a one-page ad published in the Wall Street Journal earlier this year.
Considering Kanye’s recent struggles, there are already doubts about whether the star will ever hit the stage due to his inconsistent performance history.
In July, angry fans in China demanded refunds after Kanye returned 40 minutes late to his show in Shanghai; The star committed a similar behavior when he was an hour late for a show in South Korea in 2024.
His most famous stage incident came in 2016, when he started a California show 90 minutes late and stormed off stage after just three songs.
Kanye West has announced that he will return to the UK stage for the first time in 11 years, with the rapper headlining all three nights at Wireless Festival.
Last year’s Wireless saw Drake headline but the event descended into chaos as thousands of fans were forced to queue for hours for his final show before it was cut short.
In videos shared on TikTok, festivalgoers were standing shoulder to shoulder and begging security to let them in because they had tickets for that day.
But it wasn’t just general admission that faced huge queues, as VIP guests told the Daily Mail they had to wait ‘up to three hours’ before security concluded they would not be allowed in and headed home.
And it wasn’t just those who couldn’t attend the festival who were disappointed to see Drake’s headline slot cut by 50 minutes.
The rapper took the stage 10 minutes before the scheduled time and warned the crowd that he would perform until his microphone cut out, citing the strict 9:30 pm curfew.
Drake welcomed only three special guests Popcaan, Rema and Vybz Kartel into his set, compared to Saturday’s 12 guests and 90-minute run time.
This comes just days after Kanye finally released his much-delayed studio album Bully after eight delays.
Kanye’s ninth studio album was delayed by two months after the hitmaker revealed how he planned to finish it in Africa.
However, after being pushed back several times, it was postponed indefinitely and eventually cancelled; instead, Kanye went on to release Jesus Is King.
Kanye publicly apologized for his anti-Semitic outbursts, attributing them to the effects of a health battle he said was caused by a 2002 car accident.
In the published statement WSJ print edition, January 26, He claimed that during the accident, he suffered a brain injury that was ‘unnoticed’ at the time, and that ‘medical supervision’ triggered his bipolar disorder.
Kanye said the disease ‘cut him off from my true self’ and caused him to be drawn towards ‘the most destructive symbol I could find, the swastika’.
The ad, paid for by Yeezy and written by West, was titled “For Those Who Hurt Me” and described how, after “hitting rock bottom” a few months ago, he decided to seek help with the encouragement of his wife, Bianca Censori.
It all started when he tweeted that he would be doing “death scam 3 against the Jewish people” in 2022 – which led to his immediate dismissal from his agency CAA, production company MRC, Adidas, Gap and Balenciaga.
The Yeezy designer, who wears swastikas and ‘White Lives Matter’ T-shirts, has repeatedly spoken of his disdain for Jewish people and his admiration for Nazi Germany dictator Adolf Hitler.
But in 2023, in a bizarre Instagram post, he claimed that watching Jonah Hill in the 2012 action comedy 21 Jump Street made him ‘like the Jewish people again’.
“No one should turn their anger against one or two people into hatred against millions of innocent people,” the hip-hop star wrote at the time.
