Karnataka clears Rs 18,430 crore investment proposals; 15,000 jobs expected

Bengaluru: A total investment proposal worth Rs 18,430.44 billion has been approved, which is expected to create employment for more than 15,000 people, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said on Monday.

The approvals were given at the 67th meeting of the State High Level Liquidation Committee, chaired by Siddaramaiah.

Speaking after the meeting held at his official residence, Krishna, the CM said that a total of 17 project proposals, including 11 new investment proposals and 6 expansion proposals, have been approved.

He said the 11 new proposals will bring in investments worth Rs 14,906.9 billion in various parts of the state and are expected to create around 13,050 jobs.


According to the statement issued by the CMO, the major new projects approved include investments by companies such as River Mobility Private Limited in Kolar (Rs 1,028 billion) in the electric vehicle and automobile sector, Genx PV India Pvt Ltd in Chikkaballapura (Rs 1,000 billion) in the solar energy sector and Aerostructures Manufacturing India Private Limited in Belagavi (Rs 1,356 billion) in aerospace manufacturing.
Besides this, it was stated that six additional investment proposals will generate revenue of Rs 3,523.54 crore in different regions and create employment for approximately 1,982 people.Also Read: Karnataka: With bypolls over, MLAs set to meet AICC leadership to lobby for Cabinet membership

The CMO added that these include projects of companies such as Poddar Plumbing System Private Limited, Colortone Textiles Private Limited, Goodrich Aerospace Services Private Limited, MSPL Limited, Wipro Global Engineering and Electronic Materials Private Limited and Indian Cane Power Ltd.
