Karnataka government to undertake ‘Prajaseva Abhiyan’

The state government will undertake the ‘Prajaseva Abhiyan’ in which Ministers in-charge of the region are asked to cover two constituencies every month. The mobilization to find a solution to the grievances of citizens on their doorstep will be held on the first and third Saturdays of every month.
Meanwhile, senior IAS officer Harsh Gupta, who is the Chairman of the Karnataka Appellate Authority, has been appointed as the Principal Secretary of the newly created Prajaseva Department.
“Ministers in-charge of the district have to mandatorily attend the abhiyan, which will also be attended by local legislators. District level officers from all departments will be present during the abhiyan, where grievances will be addressed. This will prevent people from coming to Bengaluru,” the Chief Minister said.
He said that people with complaints will be given application forms and that they can fill out the forms before leaving them at the toll booths. “I will also travel to the taluks in between (to participate).”
