Kash Patel Promises FBI Won’t ‘Turn Our Eye Away From’ Claim the French — And One Israeli — Are Trying to Kill Candace Owens
KELLY: Do you believe any foreign government had a role in this? [Kirk’s] assassination?
PATEL: At this time, the FBI has no reliable information that would link any foreign government to it. But as I said, we continue the investigation, our work is not done. Just like in the pipe bomb case, just because we arrest someone, we don’t just say, “Okay, we’re done, let’s move on to the next one.” The investigative team continues to work with Utah authorities and they get their own leads and come back to us and say, “Hey, can you look at this information? Can we get a search warrant for this account? What about this person who’s at X, Y, or Z?” We follow all of these.
KELLY: Do you have any credible reason to believe that anyone associated with the Turning Point organization had anything to do with Charlie’s death?
PATEL: Zero.
KELLY: Regarding the subject, well-known podcaster Candace Owens has a claim; He received a death threat from the French, a credible death threat, a threat was made against his life, and it was said that the French may have played a role in Charlie’s assassination. Have you looked at any of these? Do you believe you received a credible death threat from the French or that the French had something to do with Charlie’s death?
PATEL: Any American who receives a death threat from abroad or anywhere in the United States will be thoroughly investigated. So we will keep our eyes on that investigation or any others. If there’s anything to do with this, the FBI will answer.
KELLY: Okay, but so far no?
PATEL: So, we’re just looking at everything that comes in. We will not reject any information. If someone feels their life is threatened, of course we look at that.
