“F— Packers!” he said. “F—them! F—I hate them.”
The rivalry between the Bears and Packers has certainly heated up. Johnson added fuel to the fire when he was asked why he chose Chicago when he first joined the Bears. He said he “enjoys beating Matt LaFleur twice a year.”
The message led to a few icy handshakes throughout the season, including one after a playoff game. Chicago went 1-1 against Green Bay in the regular season, beating them when it mattered most.
The first-year head coach praised his players for their gutsy performances as they trailed 21-3 at halftime after two losses. Johnson said his team was “built for pressure.”
