Katie Price’s prison showdown with husband revealed: Truth about star’s dash to Dubai as insiders tell ALEX DOYLE about her new bust-up with sister Sophie… and how it’s affected their mother’s health

When she walked down the aisle, dressed in white, with a man she had barely known for a week, she thought she had finally found his happily ever after.
But just four months after their January wedding, Katie Price’s whirlwind romance appears to have turned into a whirlwind of lies and betrayals.
The Daily Mail can reveal that the former glamor model, 48, boarded a flight from London Gatwick to Dubai on Monday with the intention of ending her marriage to Lee Andrews.
Katie told her inner circle that she had serious questions to answer about Lee disappearing for two weeks and claiming she had been kidnapped. It was later revealed by the Daily Mail that he was being held in Al Awir prison in Dubai.
A source close to Katie said: ‘This really is make or break now. If Lee can’t explain himself, it’s all over.
‘Katie is really fed up with Lee’s behavior and what he’s put her through. He said enough is enough.
‘He is determined that he will confront him in prison and demand answers himself. Otherwise, he says he will take them personally from the authorities.’
Although she hinted at a divorce, Katie was photographed still wearing her diamond wedding ring as she headed to Gatwick.
He also shared plans to have a heart-to-heart talk with Lee to fans in a social media post, saying: ‘Let’s go, today is an important day for me.’
In his update after arriving in Dubai, he explained how he will visit the courts, police station and prison where Lee is being held.
Katie Price is in Gatwick on Monday being helped onto a flight to Dubai with the intention of ending her marriage to Lee Andrews.
The couple married in January after a whirlwind four-month romance
He said: ‘Who knows what today will bring, I slept for four hours. I was so tired that it was three o’clock in the morning when we arrived at the hotel. I couldn’t sleep. ‘I probably slept for an hour and a half and I still look like this.’
Before his arrest, Lee, 41, sent the mother-of-five a series of text messages claiming she had been kidnapped following an international manhunt.
This prompted Katie to plead with fans on social media and authorities to help her find her missing husband. But now he tells his friends that it made him angry and embarrassed.
The debacle meant that Katie was separated from her husband on his birthday and was inundated with allegations that she was ‘involved’ in his disappearance, which was seen by many as tasteless media play.
Even close friends who have loyally supported her through multiple bankruptcies, nine engagements, four marriages and three messy divorces have previously told the Daily Mail what role she played.
Katie’s four-month marriage was also tarnished by allegations that the women, some of Lee’s exes, had defrauded them and that his new wife should ‘run for the hills’.
While Lee denies being a fraud, he is said to be subject to a travel ban by UAE authorities for allegedly forging his former partner’s signature to obtain a £200,000 mortgage in Dubai. This would prevent him from flying back to see Katie, regardless of the prison sentence, which was said to be related to a ‘civil matter’.
The drama led to heated arguments between Katie and her sister Sophie and mother Amy, who lost their minds over the impact Lee had on the family. They told Katie not to fly to see him, but she ignored them.
My source told me: ‘Katie has fallen out with her siblings again. Sophie is outraged by the whole situation, but so is their mother Amy, who is not well and is struggling with all of this. The increased stress was really taking a toll on her, and Sophie tried to make Katie see that.
‘He was told not to go to Dubai but he went anyway.
‘The advice fell on deaf ears and this week Katie accused them of meddling in her relationship and they had another major crisis.
‘They’re really fed up with Lee’s situation now. They never met or spoke to her and told Katie they never wanted that.’
Katie tells her friends this makes her feel angry and embarrassed
Before his arrest, Lee Andrews had sent Katie a series of text messages claiming she had been kidnapped following an international manhunt.
When contacted, Sophie insisted there was no problem, but my source added: ‘Sophie burst into tears at the situation, crying out to other family members and close friends about the situation.’
Moreover, Katie’s disagreement with her sister has financial consequences. She hosts the weekly podcast series With Sophie, which regularly tops the podcast charts. The final episode is scheduled to air tomorrow, but the two were not in contact as of Tuesday.
Katie said she first became aware Lee was missing on Tuesday, May 12, when he failed to turn up for the couple’s first joint interview on Good Morning Britain, leaving her alone for questioning by hosts Susanna Reid and Ed Balls.
Although she claims to be the innocent party, rest assured that the chaos has given Katie some significant free publicity; it was something Katie had always been after.
He has a monthly salary for a red-cover newspaper worth thousands of pounds.
In return, the newspaper is given stories and given special access before other publications.
This explains why any changes in her marriage to Lee and her quest to find him after his alleged ‘kidnapping’ were so publicised.
While Lee was ‘missing’, Katie posted videos on social media singing Rae’s Where Is My Husband! in the middle of a supermarket aisle. He also shared a few stories with Olivia Attwood, who split from footballer Bradley Dack earlier this year, and the pair joked about their ‘missing’ husband.
Lee’s posts around the time of his disappearance and incarceration gained thousands of likes and interactions.
The Daily Mail was the first to reveal that Lee had not been kidnapped but was being held in prison after his father Peter told us ‘Lee is fine’. He was not kidnapped, but he is detained. I don’t know on what charge.
‘I’m not sure where he’s being held. But he’ll call me later today.’
This was strongly denied by Katie, who shared a screenshot of the news with her 2.6 million followers on Instagram and branded it ‘fake news’.
But a few days later, in the red-cover newspaper where his lawyer was present, he claimed that Lee had just been found.
Only time will tell if Katie will get the answers she needs to save her marriage as she confronts the truth that Lee has been feeding her lies.
