The Masked Singer viewers were surprised when Matt Lucas was revealed to be the Emperor Penguin on Sunday night’s show.

The 51-year-old comedian impressed fans with his vocal chords during a performance with a band before joining the judging panel as a guest.

And it was a double whammy when Teabag was voted out and revealed to be 42-year-old rapper Professor Green.

Viewers applauded Matt X for his ‘fabulous voice’ after the jury wrongly guessed Peter Andre, Bradley Walsh or Sir Trevor McDonald were behind the mask.

Theater and film actress Samantha Barks, who competed as ‘Pufferfish’ in the last series, was declared the winner.

He fought off tough competition from ‘Dressed Crab’ (Gregory Porter) and ‘Wolf’ (Marti Pellow from Wet Wet Wet) to take the victory.

Addressing everyone after the opening, Samantha said: ‘I had the best time. I smile so much under the mask that my cheeks hurt! It was great.’
