Kensington Palace has unveiled a major new addition to Princess Catherine’s Christmas carol concert, which will air on ITV tonight. The Palace shared a new photo on the couple’s official X account, showing a piano and containing a cryptic message that read only “piano keys and musical note emojis.”

It is unknown who will play the piano when the concert is broadcast this evening; but the Princess of Wales had performed at the festal ceremony before. The future Queen played the piano in her childhood and performed it publicly for the first time during her first Christmas carol in 2021.

During the opening Christmas carol at Westminster Abbey on December 8, Catherine surprised guests by playing the piano while accompanying Tom Walker in his song For Those Can’t Remember.

At the time, the princess’ performance was praised by fans on social media, who described it as a “true royal treat.”

Tom Walker said the future Queen “hit the city”, practicing at her home and jamming along to the backing track.

He added: “He’s really put a lot of time and energy into getting it right and making sure it’s good, so I’m really impressed – he’s a great musician.”

Catherine played the piano again in the Eurovision final in 2023.

In the opening part of the show, he took the stage with the ensemble rendition of the work “Stefania” by the Kalush Orchestra, which won the competition last year.

The royals performed alongside Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber, previous year’s runner-up Sam Ryder and Joss Stone, among other familiar faces.
