Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear said he received two calls this week from agencies suggesting that Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) had died while in the hospital.
Inside an interview With Katie Couric uploaded to YouTube on Thursday, Democrat Beshear did not specify which agencies called him for the news or when the calls were made.

McConnell’s doctor said he “developed pneumonia” early in his hospitalization but “responded quickly to antibiotic treatment.”
McConnell has said he plans to return to the Senate, but his office has not given a timeline for when he might do so.
