Keperra Woolworths plunged into lockdown after teens allegedly pull items off shelves, turn on shoppers in Brisbane’s northwest

A shopping center has been put on lockdown after a group of youths began wreaking havoc at a Woolworths store in Brisbane’s northwest.

Footage uploaded to social media allegedly captured two young men wandering the aisles of Keperra Woolworths at the Great Western Super Centre, grabbing items from shelves and scattering them on the floor.

In another video, angry shoppers can be heard calling out the two.

While the young people are walking around the store, a woman can be heard sarcastically calling out, “Well done, gentlemen, well done.”

An evacuation alarm sounds in the background.

Someone can be seen on their phone taking a sip from a Powerade bottle.

“Hey, it’ll be nice to see you guys go to fucking prison,” another man can be heard shouting.

The same teenager is seen shrugging his shoulders before trying to spray the contents of the bottle onto nearby shoppers.

Another video shows police officers entering the store and chasing the duo.

Queensland Police said in a statement that two girls were arrested.

“Police were called to a property on Ridgeline Way at around 3pm following reports of a disturbance,” a spokesman said.

“The store was evacuated and two girls were taken into custody.”

Police did not elaborate on whether charges were sought.

Great Western Super Center and Woolworths have been contacted for comment.

Felicity Osborne, who works at nearby Keirden Dry Cleaners, told The Courier Mail she said the alleged incident was the result of a possible argument between two suspected criminals.

“A few people were knocking over everything (the shelves),” he told the outlet, adding that the entire center had to be evacuated for about half an hour.

He said Woolworths would be closed for the rest of the day.
