Kerala: PM Modi allays concerns over FCRA changes, says LDF, UDF spreading lies
The NDA government’s move has sparked concerns among the Christian belt in south Kerala as the state goes to polls on April 9 and the BJP is doing its best to woo the Christian community.

“LDF and UDF workers have become professionals in lying… These days they are spreading lies about FCRA and UCC,” Modi said after a tour in Thiruvalla town in Christian-majority Pattanamthitta district. His comments came amid widespread concerns that the proposed changes could create barriers to genuine Christian welfare organizations accessing overseas funds.
Assuring the Christian population that the BJP will not go against their interests, Prime Minister Modi said that the NDA has formed governments in seven states in the northeast that have a significant Christian population. “We have delivered work that has been pending for decades. We continue to serve and drive development with a sizeable Christian community in Goa as well.” He promised to address the concerns of fishermen and local farmers after forming the government in Keralam.

The Prime Minister said the ruling LDF did not hand over the Sabarimala temple gold theft case to the CBI, which raised serious questions. “At the same time, the Congress, which has largely stayed away from temple-related issues, is now committing fraud and trying to portray itself as pro-Hindu.”
Modi said there was a clear pattern in the looting at Sabarimala. “These are happening under the LDF rule but are linked to senior leaders of the Congress. Once an NDA government is formed, there will be a thorough investigation of both the LDF and the UDF and those found guilty will be punished. Swami Ayyappa’s devotees expect nothing but justice… The countdown has begun for the departure of the LDF government in Keralam.”
