Trump calls for Netanyahu pardon in Israel Knesset address amid trial

President Donald Trump angered Israeli leftists in his Oct. 13 speech to Israel’s Knesset in Jerusalem by calling on Israel’s largely ceremonial President Isaac Herzog to use his real power — the power of pardon — and pardon Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Netanyahu has been on trial for more than five years on absurd charges related to the purchase of cigars and champagne from former friends 20 years ago.
Those charges fell flat in the early months of the trial, as prosecution witnesses, one after another, demonstrated that the indictments of Israel’s Netanyahu-hating prosecutors against the country’s longest-serving and most successful leader were hollow. However, the judge presiding over the case, who hates Netanyahu, now demands that Netanyahu appear in court for a total of 24 hours, three days a week, to testify.

In Israel, leftists dominate the country’s media and legal community, just like in America. And they were angry that President Trump had the courage to interfere in Israel’s “internal affairs.” One anchor called Trump’s call for pardons “disgusting and disgusting.”
But the truth is that Trump was defending America’s national interests by asking Israel’s left-leaning president to end the Israeli Deep State’s attack on Netanyahu.

This is true for two reasons.
First, the corrupt legal authorities involved in the case are abusing their power over Netanyahu in ways that undermine American interests.
On Wednesday, just two days after President Trump spoke, Netanyahu returned to the courtroom in Tel Aviv. He had asked the judges to allow him to postpone his testimony so he could hold certain meetings. Judges and prosecutors wanted to know what meetings might justify postponing his testimony. He said that one was quite secret and they wanted to know what it was about.
A few hours after the meeting, news leaked that Netanyahu was planned to meet secretly with the Indonesian president. President Prabowo Subianto, the leader of the world’s largest Muslim state, was planned to make a top-secret trip to Jerusalem as a step towards opening diplomatic relations with Israel. This would be one of the most important fruits of the US-backed victory in Israel’s seven-front war against Iran and its axis of terror. But thanks to Israel’s corrupt legal fraternity, the meeting was leaked to his allies in the press and President Subianto stayed away from the meeting.
In his speech, President Trump made clear that expanding the circle of peace between Israel and the Islamic world is the primary goal of the United States. Israel is America’s strongest ally in the troubled Middle East. Trump sees it as one of the core interests of the United States for the Arab and Islamic world to accept Israel as a permanent entity and an allied state. But it is apparently more important for Israel’s politicized Deep State to undermine and humiliate Netanyahu by chaining him to the courtroom and subverting his diplomatic actions.

These radical lawyers must be stopped not only so that Netanyahu can devote himself fully to serving his country, but also so that President Trump can secure America’s goals in the Middle East.

The second reason why it is in the interests of the United States to put an end to this farce of justice against Netanyahu is that there is a connection between the political fighting forces and the law in Israel and the United States. If you scratch just below the surface, you will undoubtedly find it for the same billionaire agents of anarchy who financed and introduced unprecedented legislation against both President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu, seeking to reclaim Israel as a key way to unravel America. society. For example, the Tides Foundation funds radical groups, including pro-Hamas protesters in America, and funds groups participating in protests, riots, and political violence in Israel.
Tides is one of several foundations whose activities in the United States and Israel have been the subject of several congressional investigations. One investigation focuses on well-documented allegations that the multibillion-dollar, multi-year effort to criminalize Netanyahu, which has plunged Israel into years of political instability, was partly funded by the Biden administration. This investigation must continue, and U.S. government officials who financed and facilitated political chaos in Israel must be forced to account for their actions.

More importantly, the IRS should investigate how U.S. nonprofit groups that benefit from millions of dollars worth of U.S. tax exemptions have abused their status to finance political violence, insurrection, and unrest in Israel. In some cases, campaigns by these US-based, non-profit, funded groups convinced the genocidal terror group that Israel was poised for destruction on October 7, 2023, according to Hamas’s own internal documents.

In his historic speech in Jerusalem, President Trump laid out grand plans to build a new Middle East that would combine Israel’s genius and power with the oil wealth of its neighbors and make the Middle East a locomotive of global prosperity under American leadership. If the Deep State were still persecuting him, his top aides, and his children, Trump would have a hard time leading this important initiative.
Netanyahu miraculously managed to lead Israel to one of the most important military victories in its history. Israel, with the help of Trump, destroyed Iran’s terror axis on seven fronts. Netanyahu achieved this while having to spend days in the courtroom answering stupid questions from shameless prosecutors in front of arrogant judges.
Imagine what Netanyahu and President Trump could do together if Netanyahu didn’t have to spend 24 hours a week in a courtroom.

President Trump was right to ask President Herzog to put an end to the madness that is Prime Minister Netanyahu’s trial. And he would be right to order the IRS to begin investigating the role American nonprofits have played and continue to play in destabilizing Israel and corrupting its legal system. Israel’s leftists, like its American funders, may not like President Trump to do this, but generations of Americans, Israelis, and the people of the broader Middle East will thank him.
