Kiefer Sutherland arrested in Hollywood on suspicion of making criminal threats after rideshare altercation

Kiefer Sutherland was arrested on Monday for allegedly fighting with a rideshare driver, the Daily Mail has confirmed.

Sutherland, 59, was arrested following reports that a motorist had been assaulted, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The Daily Mail has contacted Sutherland’s representatives for comment but has yet to receive a response.

According to the LAPD, officers responded to a radio call about an ‘assault involving a rideshare driver’ shortly after midnight Monday.

The suspect, later identified as Sutherland, allegedly got into the vehicle near the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue, attacked the driver, and then threatened the driver.

The 24 star was later arrested on suspicion of criminal threats. A felony charge covers situations where a person threatens to kill someone or cause serious bodily injury with the intent to instill fear.

Following his arrest, Sutherland was assigned to the LAPD’s Hollywood division at 4:23 a.m.

According to police, the rideshare driver did not have any injuries that required medical attention at the scene.

Sutherland was released on $50,000 bail at 11:30 a.m. Monday, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department records viewed by the Daily Mail.

The LAPD stated that detectives from the Hollywood Division continue to investigate the incident.

The first hearing date of the case was set as February 2.

The star has had many run-ins with the law before.

In 2007, Sutherland pleaded no contest to DUI after failing a field sobriety test.

Sutherland was previously sentenced to 48 days in prison after being convicted of drunk driving in 2004. People.

In 2009, Sutherland was arrested for headbutting fashion designer Jack McCollough after a fundraiser for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

But the charges were dropped after Sutherland apologized to McCollough in a joint statement from the two men.

The actor is known for his role as counterterrorism agent Jack Bauer in Fox’s wildly popular thriller 24.
