Shocking new allegations have emerged regarding Kiefer Sutherland allegedly fighting with a rideshare driver in Hollywood on Monday.

The Daily Mail has confirmed that Sutherland, 59, was arrested following reports that a motorist had been assaulted, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

According to the LAPD, officers responded to a radio call about an ‘assault involving a carpool driver’ shortly after midnight.

According to the police statement, the suspect, later identified as Sutherland, allegedly got into the vehicle near the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue, attacked the driver and then threatened him.

The 24 star was later arrested on suspicion of criminal threats. A felony charge covers situations where a person threatens to kill someone or cause serious bodily injury with the intent to instill fear.

Sutherland allegedly told police he had dinner with a friend named Uber Black on Sunday night and later in the evening.

According to TMZ, Sutherland got into the luxury car and allegedly asked the driver to “pull over and let him out” as he drove toward his home.

The actor told police the driver refused, which led to the actor asking ‘two more times’ for the driver to pull over, but ‘to no avail’.

According to TMZ’s report, the Uber driver claimed Sutherland ‘threatened to kill him if he didn’t pull over,’ and the driver also claimed Sutherland ‘attacked him with his hands.’ The driver called 911.

Police told the Daily Mail the driver did not suffer any injuries requiring medical treatment.

The Daily Mail has contacted Sutherland and Uber representatives for comment but has yet to receive a response.

When asked, the LAPD shared its previous statement to the Daily Mail; but this did not fully confirm what Sutherland or the driver reported.

Following his arrest, Sutherland was assigned to the LAPD’s Hollywood division at 4:23 a.m.

Sutherland was released on $50,000 bail at 11:30 a.m. Monday, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department records viewed by the Daily Mail.

The LAPD stated that detectives from the Hollywood Division continue to investigate the incident.

The first hearing date of the case was set as February 2.
