Kim Kardashian’s face-covering gown sparks mixed reactions at gala

Kim Kardashian never holds back when it comes to bold fashion choices.
On Saturday, the SKIMS founder, 44, arrived at the fifth annual Academy Museum Gala wearing a nude strapless corset dress from the Maison Margiela Fall 2025 Couture collection and a matching mask that covered her entire face.
The decision to cover her face sparked mixed reactions online.

“Watching his body contort so much that he can’t breathe is unnecessary and distracting,” one user said wrote to x. “Fashion might be better appreciated ‘as art’ if viewers didn’t think about what it feels like to wear it.”
“I find this so weird,” another wrote.
One user asked: “What is he hiding?” asked on x.
Despite the speculation, some praised the mother of four for her risky decision.
“Wait I’m obsessed,” one fan wrote to X.
“I actually like this,” said another. added.
The “Kardashians” star appeared to be teasing her look as makeup artist Mario Dedivanoic worked on “finishing touches.”
“Mario, do I look good? Is it makeup?” He said in the clip that Dedivanoic shared on his Instagram Stories.

“Your makeup looks great, yeah,” she joked.
“Good? All that hard work, guys,” he replied.

This isn’t the first time Kardashian has faced fashion-related criticism.
Last week, Kardashian and daughter Kuzey The 12-year-old came under intense criticism online after she was photographed wearing a corset-style top, skirt and blue hair in Rome.
“I think like any mother of a teenager or teenager, if you’re not here, please, we just need a little kindness,” she told Alex Cooper during her appearance on the show.Call His Dad” podcast.

The reality TV star added: “I think I did the best I could for anyone raising children, especially those raising four kids on my own. And my babies are good babies. So I urge everyone to love non-judgment and have grace [for] Single moms, you know, are trying to figure it all out with a teenage child. There’s a lot if you know.”
“It’s interesting because all the kids like to wear the same things, but then my daughter tries to wear it and I’m like, ‘Okay, we’ll never wear that again,'” the SKIMS founder said. “Unfortunately, we made that mistake in front of the whole world.”

“She’s generally a girl who dresses like a boy most of the time,” Kardashian said. “She wanted to try on something her friends were wearing, and she went to where they were going, and they all bought these clothes, and then she put them on and said, ‘Okay, wait, maybe you can’t wear that.’ And as a mom, you also kind of learn.”
