Kim Leadbeater warns UK ‘not in better place’ since Jo Cox’s murder | News

Jo Cox’s sister Kim Leadbeater has warned that Britain is “in no better place” when it comes to political violence, 10 years after the Labor MP was murdered.

The mother-of-two, 41, was shot and stabbed by neo-Nazi Thomas Mair in the Batley and Spen constituency days before the EU referendum in June 2016.

Speaking to Sky News on Friday (April 24), Ms Leadbeater, who is a Labor MP in her sister’s constituency, said: “I don’t think we’re in a better place than we were in 2016. It’s a bit demoralizing but that doesn’t mean we’ve lost hope and we need to continue to work towards the kind of political culture that I think we should all give to the people.”
