Kimmel and Colbert mock Trump’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner return

Liberal night hosts Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert took aim at President Donald Trump’s upcoming appearance at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner during their show on Thursday.
“Guys, I’m trying to remember not to be in Washington, D.C., as often as possible. But I’m definitely not having anything less than the White House correspondents’ weekend dinner, so I won’t be there again this Saturday, but that’s a big but. But for reasons that are unclear to me, many others will be going, too. If you’re not familiar with the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, it’s traditionally a joyous night attended by press and press. Politicians gather, and in my personal experience, the president mentally envisions the shooting of SEAL Team 6.” they stare blankly at the artist as they command,” Colbert said.
Colbert then launched into a Trump impression.
“All you reporters are enemies of the people. I hate you, and if you call me, I’ll pick up any time. Seriously. Anytime, day or night. I’ll do it. I’ll do it. If I’m anywhere. If I’m in the bathroom. If I’m eating dinner. If I’m eating dinner in the bathroom, okay? This is a real time saver, guys,” Colbert said, introducing himself as the president.

“Stephen Colbert is a pathetic train wreck with no talent and terrible ratings, which is exactly why CBS canceled his show and took him off the air,” White House spokesman Davis Ingle said in a statement to Fox News Digital.
Kimmel decided to launch his own White House Correspondents’ Dinner roast, comparing it to Kid Rock’s alternative Super Bowl halftime show.
“Someone funny usually shows up at the reporters’ dinner and roasts the stars, the president, everyone. But our president is a delicate snowflake with the thinnest greasy skin of any human being ever. Which means there will be no comedian this year. So I thought, why not take a page from Kid Rock’s alternative halftime show and tell some of the jokes a comedian might make if our president weren’t a twitching drama queen afraid of comedy?” he said.
The liberal host took aim at several Trump administration officials, including Federal Communications Commission (FCC) chairman Brendan Carr.
“I’m almost out of time. Brendan Carr shined a light on me. Brendan Carr is the chairman of the FCC. He tried to get my affiliates to take me off the air in September. He said we could do it ‘the easy way or the hard way.'” Kimmel said he said the same thing to Lindsey Graham in an all-gender restroom 10 minutes ago.

Both Colbert and Kimmel stated that the dinner will not be hosted by a comedian as usual, and this year’s event will be hosted by famous mentalist Oz Pearlman.
In his opening monologue in March, Kimmel opened up about Trump accept an invitation It will be his first time attending the dinner under his presidency after withdrawing from the event entirely during his first term. This will also be Trump’s first appearance at the dinner since his celebrity appearance in 2011.
Although Kimmel said Pearlman was a “great actor,” he called the decision not to hire a comedian an “avoidance.” He then jokingly called directly for Trump to have Kimmel host the event instead of Pearlman.
