King Charles distances himself from Prince Harry security claims | Royal | News

according to the SunThe monarch has offered to help meet the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s security arrangements when they return to the UK. Harry has faced a protracted legal battle with the Home Office over security arrangements for himself and his family in the UK after his level of protection changed when he left his job as a royal employee in 2020. The Duke cited his family’s safety concerns as a reason why he could not bring them to the UK, but his concerns appear to have been eased with reports claiming the Sussexes have been reassured.

However, sources emphasized that all security-related issues were for the Ministry of Internal Affairs to decide and that the King played no role in the process and did not take any special initiative.

Despite this, reports claim the King has intervened and offered his own resources to ensure the safety of the family of four when they return to England next month.

In December, it was claimed that Harry’s security access was under review while he was visiting the UK. However, no changes to the regulations were made public.

A government spokesman said: “The UK government’s protective security system is stringent and proportionate.

“It is our long-standing policy not to provide detailed information about these arrangements as doing so could compromise their integrity and impact the safety of individuals.”

It is understood the Duke and his family have been offered accommodation at the royal estate for their upcoming visit but have not yet responded. Although Buckingham Palace was suggested as a place they could use on possible trips in the past, this suggestion was not taken into consideration.

The trip comes after Harry met Charles, who is still being treated for cancer, for the first time in 19 months last September.
