King Charles III launched a formal process to strip Prince Andrew of his style, titles and honors on Thursday.

According to the statement made by Buckingham Palace, Prince Andrew will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.

“To date, his lease at the Royal Lodge has provided him with legal protection to continue his residence,” according to the statement. “Formal notice has been given to abandon the lease and he will be moving to alternative private accommodation.”

The Palace said the condemnations “were deemed necessary even though he continues to deny the allegations against him.”

Andrew announced on 17 October that he was renouncing the title of Duke of York following the publication of: unauthorized biography “Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York” by British author Andrew Lownie in August.

The former prince also had ties to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, about whom Charles was questioned during his visit to the cathedral on Monday.

“Her Majesty would like to make it clear that her thoughts and utmost sympathies are with the victims and survivors of all forms of abuse and remain with them,” the palace said in a statement.
