King Charles to scale back cancer treatment in new year

King III. Charles says that cancer treatment will decrease in the new year due to early diagnosis, effective intervention and compliance with doctor’s recommendations.
Charles, 77, revealed the information in a recorded message broadcast on British television on Friday as part of a campaign encouraging people to take advantage of screening that can detect cancer in its early stages, when it is easiest to treat.
“Early diagnosis quite simply saves lives,” Kral said.
“I also know what a difference it has made to my own situation, allowing me to continue living a full and active life even while receiving treatment.
“In fact, today I can share with you the good news that my own cancer treatment program can be shortened in the new year, thanks to early diagnosis, effective intervention and following ‘doctor’s recommendations’.
“I know from my own experience that a cancer diagnosis can be overwhelming.
“Yet I also know that early diagnosis is the key that can transform treatment journeys, saving healthcare teams invaluable time and giving their patients the precious gift of hope.”
The recorded message gave Charles the opportunity to reflect on his experiences in the 22 months since he announced he would be undergoing treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer.
Charles’ decision to reveal his diagnosis was a departure for the British royal family, who have traditionally viewed their health as a personal matter and have shared few details with the public.
“Her Majesty has chosen to share her diagnosis to avoid speculation and in the hope that it will aid public understanding of all those affected by cancer around the world,” Buckingham Palace said at the time. he said.
Charles has since used his own story to highlight the need for early diagnosis and treatment. Cancer Research UK recorded a 33 per cent increase in visits to its website in the weeks after the king’s diagnosis as people sought information about signs of cancer.
Although the palace did not specify what type of cancer the king had, officials said it was “a matter of particular concern” that the cancer was discovered after treatment for an enlarged prostate.
