King Charles visit to U.S. ends with diplomatic blunder at Arlington Cemetery

King III. Charles’ US visit ended with what was described as a ‘diplomatic error’ at Arlington National Cemetery.
The King and Queen Camilla, who arrived in the US on Monday, were at the memorial service in Virginia on Thursday to pay their respects at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
However, during the parade at the cemetery, the Union flag was accidentally turned upside down.
“A diplomatic blunder (sic) by the Americans here,” said Sky News reporter Mark Stone Attention was drawn to X. “Union flag turned upside down at Arlington Cemetery event.”

But the incident is the second flag gaffe to emerge in connection with the royal family’s visit to the US.

Ahead of the King and Queen’s arrival, hundreds of national banners were hung around Washington DC to welcome the royals. There were also 15 Australian flags in the sea of British and American emblems.
