King George VI Chase: Fact To File, Gaelic Warrior & Harry Redknapp’s The Jukebox Man set for Kempton

Fact To File and Welsh Warrior are among the hopefuls in the King George VI Chase at Kempton on Boxing Day.

The pair, trained by Willie Mullins, are set to meet again after Gaelic Warrior narrowly beat his stablemate at Punchestown last month.

Nicky Henderson’s Arkle Chase winner Jango Baie and The Jukebox Man, owned by former football manager Harry Redknapp, are also among the eight confirmed.

“Winning the King George would be a dream, but I know very well he will make it happen,” said Redknapp, the former Tottenham, West Ham and Bournemouth boss.

“It’s probably like going to the Champions League, right? You look at the teams there and think ‘God’, but you still think you have a chance and you dream you can go all the way.”

Jukebox Man had won the Kauto Star Novice Competition a year ago at the meeting attended by trainer Ben Pauling.

Last year’s first and second King George Banbridge and Il Est Francais are set to renew their rivalry.

Charlie Hall and Peterborough Chase winner Djelo are among the other contenders along with Master Chewy.

The festive feature comes with Kempton’s future as a racecourse uncertain.

Jim Mullen, managing director of the owners of the Jockey Club, said the fate of the track was “out of their hands” because developers still had the option to build housing there after the deal in 2018.
