A female high school student and two kisses were not sexually, but “cultural” at a grieving period, an experienced school teacher said during an offer to avoid imprisonment.
The 57 -year -old Vasilious Kulataris had been working as a teacher for 25 years when he touched a 17 -year -old child twice in 2021.
Bankstown made a connection with the girl, once kissed him on his lips at the West Sydney train station, and except someone he knew, except for someone he died of suicide.
“There was nothing like a romantic connection,” he said during a penalty hearing at the Regional Court on Friday.
Under the interrogation of Royal Prosecutor Georgina Namat, he said that it was “cultural” and that it was illegal to say goodbye to his student.
“There was nothing in my mind about sexuality.” He said.
In May 2024, the former teacher was found twice guilty of a young person in a special care.
In recent weeks, the old English teacher was found guilty of grooming another student for sex – 15 years old – grooming.
As a part of the grooming, 57 -year -old slapped his genitals on a counter while asking the victim to touch himself on the phone.
Sacrifice influence of young people who are well known by the Skull, explained the terrible psychological effects of the behavior of the former teacher.
“My childhood, my safety and my life stole years of life for years,” a statement read by a sacrifice support worker. He said.
“As he continued to carry damage, he walked away for years without giving results.”
Post -chronic trauma stress disorder, anxiety and depression diagnosed sacrifice, shame and guilt for actions without him, he said.
“This pain will not disappear only because a guilty decision is reached,” he wrote.
“The truth is, I will carry it with me for the rest of my life.”
Kulataris watched quietly without showing emotion while reading the expression.
He described his six -month -old life as “the worst months” of his life until he was rescued in October.
“I was spent because of the nature of my accusations during the entire time of the nature of my accusations.” He said.
He lost his job as a teacher in 2021 and now he is working in the plumbing business of a friend.
57 -year -old bail said he saw a psychologist and had a new idea about his behavior, especially the potential of harm.
The prosecutor’s office asked Judge Phillip Mahony to imprison the skull.
Namat said that parents and society trust to guide and guide teachers to teachers.
“To those who commit such crimes, a message that their actions are not tolerated and can expect an important punishment must be sent.” He said.
Defense lawyer Leslie Nicholls admitted that his client’s behavior was “understandable”.
However, compared to other sexual touch and grooming species that came before the court, Nicholls said Nicholls.
He said that the crimes were not taken by pressure or coercion from the Skull, and instead, young people had “spontaneous” with willing parties.
The former teacher lawyer, who stated that his client already spent in custody, argued that he was sentenced to the community correction order.
