Pensioner found dead after huge search at popular Sidmouth beach

A search operation saved the body of an old man from a popular tourist beach in Devon.
Devon and Cornwall police responded to the welfare of a man on the rocks of the Ladram Bay in Sidmouth at 7.25 am on Monday morning.
Exmouth and Beer Coast Guard search and rescue teams, Sidmouth Independent Cankurtaran, Coast Helicopter and South West Ambulance Service, Ladram Bay and Jacobs Ladder Beach joined the event in the Big Picket Rock, where they found a man in the eighties.
Cankurtaran brought him to the beach, but it was announced that he died at the scene. His family was informed and death is not treated as a suspect. A file is preparing for Coroner.
Popular beach, Sidmouth’daki Emergency vehicles participated in the scene while short closing.
Exmouth police shared a statement on social media: “Exmouth Patrol and Rural Eastern Devon Patrol, this morning civil servants, Exmouth and Beer Coast Guard search and rescue sets, Sidmouth Independent Cankurtaran helicopter and South Western Ambulance Service supported, Sidmouth’s Ladram Gulf and Jacobs Ladder Plaji With an event at the high summit, an event in Big Pick Rock.
“A person was rescued by Sidmouth’s ‘Speedy Sid’ outfit and moved to Sidmouth Beach, but unfortunately he passed away. The family was informed and our collective thoughts were with them at this difficult time.
“We finally thank you for your patience and understanding of short closures on the Sidmouth coast and emergency vehicle barriers and CG helicopter descent on the beach.”
The Gulf of Ladram is a secluded pebble beach, which has become a popular holiday place with caravan and holiday parks between Sidmouth and Budleight Salteton.
