Tragedy after woman’s body found in water at popular UK beauty spot | UK | News

A woman’s body was pulled from the sea in a popular beauty spot in England. Devon and Cornwall Police were called to Berry Head in Brixham, Devon, at 1.30pm on Monday, January 5, after a body was discovered in the water.

Emergency services rushed to the scene but tragically the woman, in her 50s, was pronounced dead on arrival. Police said the woman is a local resident and her relatives have been notified. A Coast Guard rescue helicopter was seen in the area yesterday afternoon.

Officials added that the death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for HM Coroner.

A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “We were called at around 1.30pm on Monday, January 5, following the discovery of a woman’s body in the water off Berry Head, Brixham.

“Emergency services arrived but unfortunately the woman, who was in her 50s and came from the area, was pronounced dead.

“His next of kin have been informed. “The death is not being treated as suspicious at this time and a file will be prepared for HM Coroner.”
