Kristi Noem Reportedly Authorized Purchase Of Planes That Were Missing 1 Key Component

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem reportedly authorized the purchase of 10 Spirit Airlines planes before realizing the airlines did not own the planes. Additionally, none of the planes had engines.

Details come from a new report In the Wall Street Journal On Friday, wrangling among members of President Donald Trump’s administration over how to increase deportations of immigrants was discussed.

Noem, along with Department of Homeland Security adviser Corey Lewandowski, had recently planned to purchase 10 Boeing 737 jets from budget airline Spirit Airlines. The plan was to use the jets to deport immigrants smuggled off the streets by masked agents. By Trump’s orders.

Sources told the Journal that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials had already warned the two that buying the planes would be more expensive than expanding existing flight contracts. When officials reviewed the proposal, they realized that the planes did not actually belong to Spirit Airlines and none of the planes came with engines.

In addition to using the jets to carry out more deportations, Noem also plans to use the jets for personal travel, the Journal reported.
