Krystle D’Souza, Tamannaah Bhatia

Television actress Krystle D’Souza has revealed that she should replace Tamannaah Bhatia in the much talked about Shararat from the movie Dhurandhar. Speaking candidly to IANS, the actor emphasized that it is all about destiny and said, “Whatever is meant to be, will be.” While Krystle praised Tamannaah’s talent and beauty, she also expressed how sometimes opportunities come true the way they are meant to be. When asked about reports claiming that Tamannaah was rejected for the song, the Chehre actress said that she had no idea about the decision behind the scenes but praised Tamannaah’s talent, calling her ‘wonderful’.

Krystle D’Souza will replace Tamannaah Bhatia

Krystle shared, “I had no idea about all this, but I mean, she’s gorgeous, she’s so beautiful, and she’s so good at what she does. If you give her more power, you know what someone is destined to get, they get it. I feel like it was for me, it was for Ayesha, and we got that. But it doesn’t change how beautiful Tamannaah is or what an amazing artist she is.”

“Maybe she could bring her own spark to a song; she brings her own aura, her own spotlight, and I think that’s great. I’m proud of any woman who’s achieved that much, and I’d love to see more women give amazing, crazy performances and support each other,” she added.

When Shararat choreographer revealed Tamannaah Bhatia was her OG choice

Krystle D’Souza and Ayesha Khan featured in Dhurandhar’s song Shararat. The foot tapping number was sung by popular Punjabi singer Jasmine Sandlas and Madhubanti Bagchi. For those who don’t know, choreographer Vijay Ganguly recently revealed in an interview that he initially considered Tamannaah Bhatia for the song, but director Aditya Dhar did not approve of the idea. After Vijay’s statement went viral, he clarified on his Instagram stories that the Baahubali actress was never in the running for the song.

Vijay Ganguly gets misquotes over Tamannaah Bhatia’s replacement

The choreographer wrote in his statement: “To clarify: Tamannaah Bhatia was never considered because her star power is so important that she might have met the particular needs of this scene. In Dhurandhar, music touched on a risky moment where tension was important. The makers cast the two actors to maintain focus on the progression of the story. This choice was about maintaining the atmosphere of the film and ensuring that the narrative remains the hero of the sequence.”

Vijay Ganguly added, “I really enjoy conversations about cinema and the many layers that go into making a film. However, I have sometimes refrained from putting myself out there because sometimes words are selectively lifted, misquoted or sensationalized to serve the headlines rather than the craft. It is unfortunate that instead of the conversation staying on the song and the creative intent behind Shararat, the focus shifts to comparisons between two great artists in strong and reductive terms. ‘denials’ are used; never what is shared is what is shared.” Something that doesn’t fit your spirit.”
