KTR Slams CM Revanth, Govt for Hyderabad’s Rain Woes

Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Wednesday made a scathing attack on the Congress government, blaming Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for the “disruption caused by the first major rainfall of the season in Hyderabad on Tuesday”.
Rama Rao said in a statement that Hyderabad’s infrastructure collapsed due to relatively minor rain, causing severe traffic congestion and difficulties for commuters in the capital. The official said that the government did not take adequate preparatory measures before the monsoon and the precautionary measures traditionally carried out before the rainy season were neglected.
The government’s response to the situation has been dismal and the administration has failed to address citizens’ concerns in a timely manner. While in power, BRS undertook the Strategic Nala Development Program (SNDP) and Strategic Road Development Program (SRDP) to reduce urban floods and traffic problems. He said the Congress government had failed to build on these efforts.
Rama Rao said Hyderabad, the economic engine of Telangana, has been neglected by the Congress government and residents of the city will hold the government responsible for the situation.
