Kylian Mbappe Wins FIFA World Cup 2026 Golden Boot

East Rutherford: Kylian Mbappe won the 2026 World Cup Golden Boot award on Sunday after Lionel Messi failed to add to his tally in the final in New Jersey.

While the France captain was at the top of the charts by scoring 10 goals, Argentina’s great star Messi was also seen scoring 8 goals.

England midfielder Jude Bellingham and Norwegian forward Erling Haaland scored seven goals each.

Real Madrid’s 27-year-old striker Mbappe also won the award at the 2022 World Cup held in Qatar, where France was a finalist.

The Frenchman, who made his World Cup debut in 2018, scored two goals in the third-place play-off, which England won 6-4 on Saturday.

With 22 goals scored in three World Cups, Mbappe became the top scorer in World Cup history, one ahead of Messi.

Mbappe, who won more than 100 matches, said, “I would rather not be the top scorer of all time and play in tomorrow’s match.”
