LA 2028 Olympics chief apologizes for Ghislaine Maxwell emails

Casey Wasserman, president of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Committee, issued a statement Friday acknowledging his emails, which were revealed in the U.S. Department of Justice’s release of more than 3 million documents related to its investigation of the human trafficker and child sex offender. jeffrey epstein.

The statement included emails between Wasserman and Ghislaine Maxwell. But Wasserman now claims she never had a relationship with Epstein.

“I deeply regret my correspondence with Ghislaine Maxwell, which occurred more than two decades ago, long before her horrific crimes were uncovered. I never had a personal or business relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. As is well documented, I traveled on a humanitarian trip on an Epstein plane as part of a Clinton Foundation delegation in 2002. I deeply regret having any association with either of them,” the statement said.

Wasserman’s 2003 emails to Maxwell included “Where are you, I miss you” and “Can we book a massage now?” There were statements. Wasserman was married at the time. Wasserman divorced his wife of 20 years, Laura Ziffren Wasserman, in 2021.

Maxwell’s responses to Wasserman included: “All this friction – are you sure you can take it? The thought frankly leaves me a little breathless” and “Apparently there are a few things that drive a man crazy – I guess I could try them on you and you can tell me if they work?”

Epstein was found dead in his Manhattan federal prison cell on August 10, 2019. It was later ruled that it was suicide. He faced up to 45 years in prison for crimes related to sex trafficking of minors.

In 2021, Maxwell was convicted of five counts of sex trafficking and exploitation of minors. He is serving a 20-year prison sentence.

The documents were disclosed as required by a law that requires the government to open its files on the late financier and Maxwell, his confidant and onetime girlfriend.
