Labour codes are nation-building reforms: Bandaru Dattatreya

hyderabad
Former Governor Bandaru Dattatreya described the ‘Labour Acts’ introduced by the Modi government as transformative reforms that will shape India’s economic future.
The consolidation of 29 existing labor laws into four comprehensive labor laws is a groundbreaking step aimed at simplicity, transparency and efficiency for the welfare of workers, he said in a statement issued on Sunday.
Recalling that he served as the Union Minister of Labor and Employment in 2017, Mr. Dattatreya said that the groundwork for these reforms was initiated at that time. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for guiding the reform process.
“Being part of these reforms is one of the greatest honors of my life,” he said, adding that the new rules extend social security to all categories of workers, including those in the unorganized sector.
