2 CRPF personnel injured in IED blast in Saranda forest

According to officials, two personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were injured in an IED explosion while carrying out an anti-Maoist operation in Saranda forest district of Jharkhand on Sunday.
IG Operations and Jharkhand police spokesperson Michaelraj S said the personnel belonged to the CRPF’s CoBRA unit. “Two CRPF jawans from COBRA battalion were injured in IED blast during anti-naxal operation in Saranda forests. Both were airlifted to Ranchi for better medical treatment. Their condition is stable,” Michaelraj said. he said.
Meanwhile, in the neighboring state of Chhattisgarh in December, security forces found the bodies of at least 18 Maoists who were killed in an encounter during an anti-Naxal operation at the Bijapur-Dantawada border in Bastar district. The encounter between Naxalites and security forces lasted around 12 hours, during which three District Reserve Guard (DRG) jawans were killed in action.
