Maliki Denounces Trump’s ‘Blatant’ Interference as Iraq PM Candidate

Baghdad: Iraq’s main candidate for prime minister, Nouri al-Maliki, condemned Washington’s “blatant interference” on Wednesday after President Donald Trump warned that Maliki would end all support for the country if he takes office.

“We categorically reject America’s blatant interference in Iraq’s internal affairs,” Maliki said in a statement to channel X, adding that “we consider it a violation” of Iraq’s “democratic system” after the US-led invasion in 2003.
