Lucy Letby hospital investigation: three bosses arrested on suspicion of manslaughter | UK news
Police said that three bosses with Lucy Letby were arrested on suspicion of heavy neglect manslaughter.
Three unnamed was arrested on Monday as a part of the investigation into the actions of leaders in Counts in North-West England.
After 35 -year -old Letby is sentenced to 15 all imprisonment after killing seven babies and trying to kill seven people until June 2016.
The former Newborn Nurse is trying to overthrow her convictions at the Criminal Cases Review Commission (CCRC), which has lost two legal difficulties in the Court of Appeal.
Det Supt Paul Hughes from Cheshire Constabulary said on Tuesday: “In October 2023, Lucy Letby’s long trial and subsequent conviction launched an investigation into the Corporate Constabulary Corporate Hospital Council Council.
“This focuses on decisions to determine whether there is any guilt with high -level leadership and the response to increasing levels of death.
“In March 2025, the scope of the investigation expanded to include heavy negligence.
“This is a separate crime for institutional manslaughter and focuses on the great negligent action or inertia of individuals.
“It is important to state that this does not affect Lucy Letby’s conviction on more than one murder and attempted murder.”
“As a part of our ongoing investigations, three people, who were part of the senior leadership team at Coch on Monday, June 30, were arrested on suspicion of killing severely neglect.
“All three later continued to expect more investigations.”
The arrests have been the first in the case since Letby was initially arrested in July 2018.
After examining the medical records and other documents of an international experts panel in February, they announced that they could not find any evidence of guilt against him, and after Letby encountered questions about his conviction.
Lawyer Mark McDonald, who now represented Letby, gave CCRC two major new experts examined earlier this year.
However, on Tuesday, Cheshire Constabulary said that the criminal investigation of the former nurse, hospital bosses and the hospital itself will continue.
Hughes said: “Both the corporate man killing and the heavy negligence man continues the massacre elements of the investigation and there is no specific time schedule for them.
“In the neo-natural units of Liverpool Women’s Hospital between both Chester Hospital and 2012 and 2016 periods, our research on the deaths of babies and non-fatal collapse continues.”
