Lake Cargelligo: Police update on manhunt for Julian Ingram for allegedly shooting dead three people

The search for Julian Ingram, who allegedly shot and killed three people in a small rural NSW town, has entered its third day.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Ingram, 37, who is wanted after the fatal shooting of three people, including his pregnant ex-partner Sophie Quinn, in Lake Cargelligo on Thursday afternoon.

NSW Police Deputy Commissioner Andy Holland told reporters in the town in the state’s Central West on Saturday that an intense search involving up to 100 officers had so far been unsuccessful.

He said the town was no longer under lockdown but warned locals to be vigilant.

“We believe the (alleged) criminal is still at large, he is still armed, and they need to be extremely careful while keeping in the back of their minds that there is a possibility they may run into him,” he said.

Two properties were searched overnight and Deputy Commissioner Holland said the search was expanding.

“The search area is very wide,” he said.

“Obviously, we are in rural districts.

“Again we’re getting information on where the locations are and it could be a property of 4 or 500 hectares.”

Emergency services were called to Bokhara Street at around 4.30pm on Thursday after reports of a collision.

Quinn, 25, and his friend John Harris, 32, were found with gunshot wounds inside a car.

Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Shortly thereafter, reports emerged of shots fired on Walker Street, where police found the bodies of Ms. Quinn’s aunt, Nerida Quinn, 50, and Kaleb Macqueen, 19, in the driveway.

Nerida died at the scene and the teenager was transported to the hospital in serious but stable condition.

Deputy Commissioner Holland previously confirmed the attack was likely related to domestic violence.

Domestic abuse helplines

He told the media that the alleged attacker was known to police from domestic violence-related matters.

Ingram was expected to appear in preliminary court for an arrest violence warrant hearing on Feb. 3.
